Quick start
This page gets Jangka and its Postgres database running on one machine. It takes a few minutes and needs
Docker with Compose v2 and openssl.
Start Jangka
Run these in an empty directory. It will hold the compose file and the .env file with your key.
mkdir jangka && cd jangka
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/iqbalr3000/jangka/v1.0.0-rc.1/docker/docker-compose.yml -o docker-compose.yml
echo "MASTER_KEY=$(openssl rand -base64 32)" > .env
echo "JANGKA_VERSION=1.0.0-rc.1" >> .env
docker compose up -dCompose reads .env on every start, so later commands pick the key and version up without you exporting
them again. JANGKA_VERSION picks the image tag. Always set it: release candidates aren't tagged latest.
Open the setup wizard
Open http://localhost:3000. The setup wizard asks for a one-time setup token, which the app prints in its log:
docker logs jangka 2>&1 | grep "SETUP TOKEN" | tail -n 1The token looks like jk_setup_…. The wizard then creates the organization and the first admin, and
optionally connects an LLM provider. First-run setup walks through each step.
Use another address
http://localhost:3000 only works on the machine running Docker. If people will open Jangka at another
address, set PUBLIC_URL to exactly that address and apply it:
echo "PUBLIC_URL=http://jangka.internal:3000" >> .env
docker compose up -dFor anything beyond a trial, put Jangka behind a reverse proxy with TLS and use the
https:// address.
Install with Docker Compose covers running it on a server.
